I am exhausted!! My eyes are really heavy, my heart is sore! I wanted to give a quick update before i head to bed, for you, and for me to vent! Things went well today, alot of waiting. Karver had to stop eating last night by midnight, but what 24 month old stays up untill midnight. So really the last thing he ate was at 8:30. Then he had to stop drinking by 10:30 this morning. His re-set was not scheduled untill 1:30, we didnt end up getting into the O.R. untill 2:45. He was a HUNGRY boy! We decided to not eat in front of him, so I was a hungry mommy too!
While we were waiting in the Pre-Op they gave him a medicine that made him act, well.. drunk! He was COMICAL!! I wish we would have had some video footage of it! He was taking into the O.R. and Jeremy and I rushed down to the cafeteria and grabbed something to eat. We hurried back to the waiting room and sat there for just a few minutes before the doctor came to talk to us. She said things went really well and that he would be in pain for a few days but he would be okay. The bones were in alot better position.
We waited a few more minutes than they called me back to be with Karver while he came to. I walked in and he had been crying for me they said! I was happy to hold his hand and sing him some songs. He looked pale and out of it. He had to eat something before he left. They gave him some cookies and he started to choke on them. Even though his leg was sore they had to lift him high and I grabbed in his mouth to get the cracker out! MUCH TO MUCH EXCITEMENT! We got them out and then he looked at me and said "more cracker". haha i was reluctant, but he was starving. So we watched him closely as he ate more. They gave him some more pain meds and eventually Jeremy was able to come in. We ended up leaving the hospital at about 6:00.
Jeremy and I both have mentioned how dead tired we are! I dont know why but it took alot out of us today. Karver did a great job! Not excited for him to be in pain again. Not excited to work witha new cast possitioning! But VEERY excited to be back on the straight path!

Sometimes you don't expect things to happen the way they do! But somebody far more powerful and far more knowing has a different plan for you! That is how my life has been and I am SOO grateful to my Father in Heaven for his unexpected blessing! :)

Man, what a LONG day for you guys!!!! What a trooper Karver is and you and Jeremy as well! I am soooooo super glad that you have Gramma Karen there now too. You have a lot of love and support from family cuz we all love you to the moon!!!!

Wow Ruth that sounds exhausting. I am glad carver is on the mend, and wont have to do that again. You have a strong little Family with an amazing support system, I know you can do it!
